Leanne Hoffmann PJHS 8th and 9th Grade English I am your English teacher, but I am not ONLY an English teacher. I am a daughter, a mother, a sister, a friend. Who I am can not be seen at a glance. My identity--how I see myself, my beliefs--the things that make me, ME--are complex. I understand that you are not one thing, one person, either. You have a unique identity--all the things that make you, YOU. This year we will pause frequently to reflect and ask the question: WHO AM I? (A Nutshell Bio) I was born in Provo on the cusp of the burgeoning hippy generation. As a junior high student I listened to retro music of the 50s, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Frankie Valley, Paul Anka, . . . [incomplete] The first book I remember reading was Dr Suess's "Hop on Pop." I was totally thrilled when I realized I knew what sounds the letters were making (after my mother read it through to me a couple of time)s! I fully embraced reading when my third grade teacher read "The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe," aloud to us after lunch. My heart lurched. From then until today, my life has been filled with the wonder of books and the stories they tell. I am the fourth child in a family of six. In addition to Utah and Washington State, I've lived in Montana, The Netherlands, and several areas of California. My ancestors in every line settled the southernmost part of Illinois--"Little Egypt." I'm fascinated by anthropology, psychology, genetics, history, and ancient civilizations. I have a 20-year-old son, Aaron, who has grown up to be intelligent, kind and quite a pain simultaneously :) I love learning. I love teaching kids. I love looking for what's coming up around the bend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
