450 BC Socrates--never wrote anything; pedagogy (teacher questions to bring out correct response); ethic, epistemology (the study of knowledge), logos,  foundation of Western thought, defended his truth; refused to back off what he believed, went on trial and sentenced to death (drank hemlock). 

Plato--Strudent, platonic relationships, analogies, told us about Socraties; Atlantis 3500 years ago

Aristotle--went to Plato's academy, extraordinary student, became faculty at the academy; set up his own school
